Position Overview
Join our dynamic team as an End of Line Mechanical Technician on the 2nd shift (3:00pm-11:30pm). This pivotal role involves the comprehensive testing, assembly, and validation of mechanical systems and components for our cutting-edge autonomous surface vessels, ensuring they meet all specifications prior to delivery to the Department of Defense. The ideal candidate will possess extensive hands-on experience in mechanical assembly, testing, troubleshooting, and conducting final inspections of intricate mechanical systems. You will collaborate closely with engineers and production teams to uphold the highest standards of mechanical performance and reliability.
Responsibilities
- Conduct end-of-line mechanical testing, troubleshooting, and validation of systems for autonomous surface vessels.
- Perform final checks and diagnostics on vital mechanical components such as propulsion systems, drive shafts, motors, actuators, and structural assemblies.
- Utilize mechanical tools and equipment (e.g., torque wrenches, hydraulic presses, vibration analyzers) to ensure systems operate effectively.
- Interpret mechanical blueprints, technical specifications, and assembly instructions to diagnose and troubleshoot systems.
- Collaborate with engineers to identify and resolve mechanical issues, implementing corrective actions as needed.
- Ensure all mechanical systems comply with performance, safety, and regulatory standards before vessels are dispatched to clients.
- Maintain detailed logs of test results, repairs, modifications, and deviations from standard procedures.
- Assist in the calibration of mechanical systems and components utilized during production.
- Adhere to best practices and safety standards in mechanical work, ensuring compliance with industry regulations.
- Provide constructive feedback to design and engineering teams to enhance product designs and optimize mechanical processes.
- Support troubleshooting of mechanical issues in prototype vessels and assist with the design of new vessels.
