REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS6+ years of hands-on experience in building solid rocket motors. Relevant experience in adjacent industries or a background in mechanical or chemical engineering will also be considered. Proficient in handling hazardous and/or toxic chemicals, ideally while utilizing a respirator. Basic understanding of AS9100 standards and the significance of personal warranty in operational sign-offs. Skilled in using measurement tools including calipers, scales, and gauges. Strict adherence to safety protocols when handling chemicals and performing energetic operations. Strong mechanical aptitude with experience using hand tools and standard industrial adhesives. Ability to work collaboratively and communicate effectively with team members.

Role Overview: Energetics Processing & Motor Final Assembly Technician

This technician supports the solid rocket motor division in McHenry, Mississippi. The work involves mixing and casting solid rocket propellants and assembling final motor components. Safety is a core part of the job, including careful handling of hazardous chemicals. Adaptability and attention to detail are important, as is the ability to provide feedback to Manufacturing Engineering on process improvements and work instruction updates.

Key Responsibilities

  • Weigh, dose, and mix solid rocket fuel components with precision.
  • Assemble nozzles and igniters for solid rocket motors.
  • Install igniter and nozzle assemblies on different motor types.
  • Collect and enter data related to production and assembly.
  • Maintain cleanliness and reset various tooling as needed.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
