Qualifications:A minimum of 5 years of experience in power marketing, trading, or origination, with a strong emphasis on mid-market transactions in PJM or similar U. S. power markets. Proficient in executing power products through various exchanges (e.g., ICE, CME, NODAL). Experience with bilateral and structured power transactions. Ability to operate under risk mandates and implement hedging strategies to mitigate risk. A well-established network within the power market, including industrials, utilities, funds, banks, and trading houses. Proven success in executing structured deals with LSEs, cooperatives, and municipal agencies. Familiarity with standard and non-standard power contract terms and master trade agreements like ISDA and EEI. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. A self-starter capable of working independently and driving initiatives to completion.

Join Statkraft, Europe's leading renewable energy generator, as we expand our presence in the U. S. energy market. Our Origination team is instrumental in sourcing and managing an extensive range of short and long-term energy contracts, focusing primarily on renewable resources. We handle Power Purchase Agreements (PPAs) and various structured energy transactions with our esteemed customers and trading partners. While our current focus is within the PJM Interconnection, we are poised to extend our reach to other Independent System Operators (ISOs) as needed.

We are looking for a dynamic and seasoned Energy Marketing Commercial Manager/Wholesale Power Marketer to enhance Statkraft's power marketing initiatives in the PJM region, particularly targeting the mid-market segment, including banks and trading entities, as well as downstream customers. This position is perfect for someone with a robust background in structuring and executing intricate energy transactions with Load Serving Entities (LSEs), municipal utilities, and energy cooperatives, as well as through various exchanges.

Key Responsibilities

  • Fortify Statkraft's power marketing operations within PJM, emphasizing over-the-counter (OTC) mid-market transactions and optimizing portfolio management trades through exchanges.
  • Identify, structure, negotiate, and execute complex structured energy transactions leveraging extensive market knowledge and established networks.
  • Drive the commercial strategy for mid-market sales, focusing on pricing, risk management, and product development tailored to customer requirements.
  • Develop and implement risk-reducing transactions.
  • Communicate effectively and collaborate with Origination, Portfolio Management, Credit, Operations, and Trading teams to ensure smooth execution and risk-aligned deal flow.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key mid-market and downstream customers, serving as a trusted advisor and long-term partner.
  • Share your insights and knowledge with colleagues to foster a culture of learning.
  • Assist in the daily management of the contracted portfolio in coordination with Portfolio Management and Operations.
  • Design and establish scalable systems, tools, and processes to promote business growth and operational efficiency.
