The Opportunity
As an Engineering Manager at Tide, you will lead and manage a cross-functional team of 8-12 engineers, responsible for developing and maintaining essential products that support our members in their business operations, encompassing banking, payments, and administrative tools. This role presents a unique chance to significantly influence engineering practices within a rapidly growing company. We empower our Engineering Managers to make substantial architectural decisions that shape the future of Tide’s platform.
Our teams operate in a domain-aligned, full-stack manner, owning products from inception to launch. Engineers engage in self-organization, tackling technical challenges collaboratively, and establishing shared standards through Communities of Practice.
- Lead and manage a diverse team of engineers
- Collaborate closely with a Product Manager as part of a Product Engineering Duo
- Demonstrate a strong commitment to both product quality and the processes by which they are built
- Oversee team delivery encompassing quality, stability, timelines, and dependencies
- Ensure technical excellence and architectural integrity within your team's scope
- Drive continuous improvement in team performance using DORA metrics
- Support the growth and well-being of team engineers
- Engage in hands-on work, balancing design, coding, and mentoring team members, becoming the go-to person for advice and solutions.
