What You Will Do Team Leadership: Mentor and guide high-performing engineering teams and a unified Quality team, focused on delivering outstanding web and customer-facing experiences. Foster a culture of trust, accountability, and continuous improvement where team members can excel. Platform Advancement: Spearhead modernization and transformation initiatives to enhance SumUp's web and digital capabilities, ensuring flexibility, performance, and scalability. Technical Excellence: Define and direct the technical trajectory for our web and purchase architectures, maintaining high standards for quality, observability, reliability, and maintainability. Data-Driven Culture: Establish and implement measurement frameworks to assess engineering effectiveness, leveraging metrics (such as DORA) to identify bottlenecks, enhance throughput, and inform performance discussions. Performance Management: Oversee engineering performance with clarity and empathy, setting clear expectations, developing talent, and constructively managing underperformance. Collaboration: Build strong, effective partnerships with cross-functional teams, including Product, Marketing, and Design.
