At PsiQuantum, we are on a groundbreaking mission to realize the potential of quantum computing by constructing the first genuinely practical quantum computers. Our vision is to create a system that incorporates approximately 1 million qubits, engineered to support robust fault-tolerant error correction within a scalable architecture and a compact data center footprint.
By leveraging the principles of quantum physics, we aim to achieve performance levels that vastly exceed those of today’s most advanced supercomputers, bringing transformative advancements across diverse sectors such as climate change, energy, healthcare, pharmaceuticals, finance, agriculture, transportation, and materials design.
We have meticulously identified the fastest route to delivering a functional quantum computer, significantly ahead of our competitors. Our architecture utilizes silicon photonics, enabling us to produce components in leading semiconductor fabrication facilities like GlobalFoundries. This approach allows us to harness high-volume semiconductor manufacturing processes, the same that currently yield billions of chips for telecommunications and consumer electronics. Furthermore, we exploit the unique characteristics of photons, which are immune to heat and electromagnetic interference, to utilize existing cryogenic cooling systems and standard fiber connectivity.
In 2024, we launched two government-supported initiatives aimed at establishing our inaugural Quantum Data Centers and utility-scale quantum computers in Brisbane, Australia, and Chicago, Illinois. These projects are backed by nations keenly aware of the transformative potential of quantum computing and the necessity to develop this technology at scale. Our commitment extends beyond hardware; we are also dedicated to creating fault-tolerant quantum applications that will drive industry-altering results.
