As an English as a Second Language (ESL) Specialist, you will be a key player in our Language and Learning Lab, dedicated to ensuring that our ESL students excel in speaking, writing, reading, and listening skills. Collaborating with a diverse team of ESL experts and Rocketship colleagues, you will help design and implement impactful learning experiences. Your role will involve providing targeted support and intervention during sheltered instructional blocks, focusing on speaking, listening, reading, writing, phonics, decoding, and reading comprehension.
Utilizing formative and summative assessments from WIDA, you will develop tailored lesson plans that cater to the individual needs of each child, while maintaining close communication with classroom teachers and families about student progress. Furthermore, you will conduct an in-depth analysis of annual WIDA data and present the findings and actionable strategies to educators and school leaders during professional development sessions.
