About the Position:

We seek a seasoned sales professional with a background in open-source technologies, tasked with driving sales into large global enterprises. The ideal candidate has experience supporting other early-stage enterprise products within a dynamic environment. As a Strategic Account Executive, you will play a vital role in our growth strategy and customer acquisition efforts. You will serve as the primary contact and representative of Kong for prospective clients.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Promote and sell the Kong Enterprise Platform to enterprise-level customers.

  • Achieve individual sales quotas and objectives.

  • Manage your portfolio, including comprehending and documenting purchasing criteria and processes, determining strategic approaches, ensuring pipeline accuracy, and driving leads to successful closure.

  • Provide leadership and direction throughout the pre- and post-sales processes and contribute to win/loss analyses.

  • Travel to customer locations as needed (30% - 50%).

What We Are Looking For:

  • A genuine passion for helping customers realize value from their investment in Kong.

  • Experience in selling enterprise software; familiarity with open-source solutions, APIs, and/or infrastructure software is highly desirable.

  • Ability to leverage established relationships and effective sales strategies.

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Exceptional negotiation, presentation, and closing abilities.

  • Self-motivated, driven, and results-oriented.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in a fast-paced scale-up environment is a significant advantage.
