Qualifications
Develop and review the Construction Environmental Management Plan, collaborating with the site manager to ensure compliance with client expectations and Winthrop's sustainability initiatives. Analyze construction method statements and procedures to identify and mitigate environmental risks effectively. Conduct toolbox talks to promote environmental best practices among site personnel. Deliver training sessions on environmental and social sensitivity issues, including responses to public inquiries. Establish and train staff on spill kit protocols. Execute emergency practice scenarios with H&S and Site Manager to identify and rectify weaknesses in existing procedures. Ensure protection for all drainage systems and potential watercourse entry points, monitoring onsite discharges to prevent contamination. Coordinate with the H&S site officer to manage cross-over risks appropriately. Collaborate closely with site management to fulfill environmental objectives. Act as Winthrop's representative for client environmental inspections and meetings, ensuring timely reporting on findings and resolutions. Supervise medium to high-risk tasks onsite and conduct thorough site walkovers with the site manager, documenting findings and agreeing on corrective actions. Submit monthly environmental progress reports covering incidents, resolutions, and interventions. Conduct investigations into environmental non-compliance and track closure actions. Monitor and report on project waste management, emphasizing waste reduction strategies.
