Qualifications

Master's degree in relevant fields such as chemistry, environmental geology, biology, and/or environmental science. A minimum of five years of relevant experience. Ability to see the big picture and prioritize effectively. Strong leadership skills and accountability for progress. Experience in managing contaminated land, waste handling, and biodiversity issues. Experience as a consultant, contractor, or client, both in independent assignments and in interdisciplinary teams. Knowledge of pollution regulations and experience in liaising with pollution authorities at both local and national levels. Experience with environmental risk assessments and emission applications. Strong verbal and written communication skills in both Norwegian and English. A well-established network with potential clients and partners is advantageous.

About the job

We are expanding our team and seeking experienced Project Leaders specializing in environmental management and regulatory compliance. With a multitude of ongoing projects, we need you to actively contribute to our efforts in managing environmental aspects and liaising with pollution authorities.

In this role, you will be responsible for:

  • Acting as the client's representative to lead environmental and sustainability initiatives across both large and small projects.
  • Overseeing environmental compliance and managing contacts with regulatory authorities.
  • Guiding the client organization and ensuring the implementation of ambitions and legal requirements throughout all project phases.
  • Monitoring project design teams and contractors on behalf of the client.
  • Assisting clients with environmental risk assessments, emission applications, and follow-ups with pollution authorities.
  • Delivering and managing environmental aspects within concept choice investigations (KVU) and regulatory plans.
  • Conducting smaller assignments related to environmental assessments (land valuations, action plans, clean-ups).
  • Leading and participating in investigations within relevant fields.

For the right candidate, there may also be an opportunity to take on a line manager role with responsibilities for expertise and personnel management.
