The Environmental Simulation and Performance Lab Manager is responsible for overseeing the complete operations of the Environmental Simulation Lab in Baltimore. This dynamic role requires a hands-on leader who can ensure excellence in environmental testing services, particularly within the Military, Defense, and Aerospace sectors. Key responsibilities include guiding technical staff, managing budgets, coordinating projects, maintaining equipment standards, and developing new service offerings to enhance operational efficiency.
The ideal candidate will demonstrate exceptional leadership skills, maintaining high standards of quality and customer satisfaction while fostering a collaborative environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Act as the primary technical liaison for customers on various projects, delivering expert solutions for commercial, industrial, and specialized Military/Aerospace testing needs.
- Manage incoming Requests for Quotations (RFQs) from the National Sales Team, ensuring accurate and timely quotations across a range of environmental simulation services.
- Create, review, and implement test plans in compliance with industry standards (e.g., ASTM, MIL-STD-810, RTCA/DO-160) and customer requirements.
- Mentor and provide on-the-floor technical oversight to Environmental Simulation Lab Engineers and Technicians, instilling best practices for diverse product testing.
- Conduct tests in accordance with established standards, ensuring comprehensive data accuracy and traceability for product certification.
- Supervise the calibration, maintenance, and verification of testing equipment, adhering to accreditation standards such as ISO/IEC 17025.
- Perform quality assurance audits and implement process improvements within the Environmental Simulation Lab.
- Collaborate with engineering teams, management, and cross-functional units to provide timely project updates and insights.
- Coordinate training sessions for test technicians and engineers on environmental simulation methodologies and evolving standards.
- Lead research and capability assessments to identify opportunities for new testing services, particularly in high-growth Military, Defense, and Aerospace areas.
- Develop realistic project timelines and provide prompt, professional customer communication to ensure on-time project delivery.
- Collaborate with Eurofins E&E personnel to deliver integrated testing solutions.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and compliant lab environment, meeting company and regulatory standards.
- Uphold company policies and ensure high levels of customer service.
