Neal R. Gross and Co., a premier provider of Court Reporting and Transcription services headquartered in the Washington, DC area, is seeking skilled Court Reporters to join our team on a contract basis. Our clientele encompasses a diverse range of local, state, and federal courts, as well as esteemed entities such as the House of Representatives, the Department of Defense, and various private sector clients.

As a Court Reporter, you will travel to client locations within your local area to meticulously capture an accurate record of legal proceedings, including court sessions, board meetings, and depositions. We offer flexible opportunities, allowing reporters to take on assignments ranging from a few jobs per month to 2-3 per week.

Responsibilities:

  • Utilize Machine Shorthand, Voice, or Digital capture techniques to document proceedings
  • Provide verbatim transcripts of legal courts, meetings, depositions, and hearings
  • Administer oaths and engage in depositions and hearings
  • Set up and operate recording equipment for accurate documentation
  • Prepare for assignments by developing job worksheets, reviewing relevant case information, and ensuring the setup of necessary hardware
  • Secure all exhibits, perform necessary file backups, and complete required documentation at the conclusion of proceedings
  • Maintain all logs and reports while responding promptly to communication
  • Represent Neal R. Gross and Co. professionally during all interactions
  • Interact with high-level clients from the Federal Government, State Government, and Private Industry
