About the job
EdTech Sales Consultant
Location: Remote Job Type: Fractional, Contract, Fixed-term Compensation: Highly Competitive Salary
About the Role
EQL Tech is thrilled to partner with a dynamic, private equity-backed edtech firm seeking a seasoned EdTech Sales Consultant. This role is designed for a short-term, impactful commercial engagement aimed at shaping the sales strategy for a company poised for growth.
The organization specializes in essential software solutions utilized by school districts to streamline their complex operations. As it embarks on an ambitious growth trajectory, the need arises for a well-structured, scalable sales playbook that can be implemented swiftly and optimized over time.
We are looking for a senior sales or revenue professional with deep insights into the educational sector or public sector purchasing environments.
Your primary responsibility will be to craft and implement a comprehensive sales playbook detailing how the organization can effectively position itself, engage potential buyers, conduct discovery sessions, demonstrate value, and compete in the marketplace.
This is a strategic build role focused on creating valuable resources rather than a quota-driven position. Success will be assessed based on the clarity, usability, and impact of the developed materials.
Scope of Work
Within a span of 2 to 3 months, you will be tasked with delivering a practical, sales-ready playbook, encompassing:
- A compelling elevator pitch tailored for school district and public sector stakeholders
- A core value proposition and messaging framework
- A sales narrative aligned with buyer pain points and procurement realities
- Guidance on demo structure and demo deck for both live and asynchronous presentations
- Call scripts for outbound, inbound, discovery, and late-stage discussions
- Competitive battle cards covering key competitors and alternatives
- Frameworks for handling objections and presenting proof points
- Recommended sales stages, qualification criteria, and deal progression logic
- Documentation crafted for immediate use by internal sales teams
You will collaborate closely with executive leaders, product teams, and customer-facing departments to ensure that commercial messaging accurately reflects customer value and product capabilities.
