Litigation Paralegal
Location: Los Angeles
Join Barnes & Thornburg LLP as a Litigation Paralegal in our dynamic Litigation Department located in the vibrant Los Angeles office. We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive individual to provide comprehensive support to our attorneys throughout various phases of litigation.
Key Responsibilities:
Assist attorneys in all stages of litigation, including discovery, motion practice, hearings, and trial.
Prepare, organize, and file documents with state and federal courts through PACER/ECF.
Conduct legal research and aid in drafting pleadings, correspondence, and discovery responses.
Finalize legal briefs, ensuring accurate citations and preparation of exhibits.
Manage case files, calendars, and deadlines to facilitate timely case progression.
Coordinate extensive document productions and maintain databases to track evidence and case materials.
Assist in trial preparation, including creation of witness binders, exhibits, and logistics.
Communicate effectively with attorneys, clients, and external stakeholders.
Perform additional duties as assigned.
Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree and/or Paralegal Certificate is mandatory.
A minimum of 5 years of experience in litigation is required.
Proficient understanding of filing procedures and court rules, including PACER/ECF.
Exceptional research, drafting, and document management skills.
Outstanding communication, organizational, and time management skills.
Demonstrated capability to handle multiple projects and adjust to changing priorities.
Strong attention to detail with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Trial experience, mass tort/MDL experience, and Excel proficiency are highly desirable.
