Role Overview
The firm seeks an experienced Litigation Paralegal in Marietta, Georgia. This role works closely with attorneys, providing support through all phases of litigation, from case preparation to post-trial work.
Main Responsibilities
- Draft legal documents, including pleadings, motions, affidavits, and memoranda.
- E-file court documents in state and federal courts.
- Communicate with clients, courts, and legal counsel.
- Conduct legal research and factual investigations.
- Organize and prepare discovery materials, interrogatories, and responses.
- Prepare and serve summons and legal notices.
- Summarize and coordinate depositions.
- Compile trial binders and exhibits for case presentations.
- Handle administrative tasks such as calendaring hearings, managing deadlines, organizing case files, and overseeing logistics.
- Maintain updated indexes for pleadings and discovery.
- Assist attorneys with interrogatories and discovery requests.
- Gather and analyze information from diverse sources.
- Act as a liaison between trial teams and third parties.
- Prepare witnesses for trial.
- Support case settlements as needed.
- Perform additional tasks as requested by attorneys.
Qualifications
- Associate degree, paralegal certificate, or equivalent work experience preferred.
- At least 2 years of litigation experience preferred.
- Completion of a nationally accredited paralegal program preferred.
- Background in personal injury, workers’ compensation, premises liability, or related practice areas is a plus.
- Ability to multitask, set priorities, and manage workload independently.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with experience scheduling depositions, mediations, and hearings.
