SMX is actively seeking a skilled and motivated System Security Engineer (SSE) to provide support to the Unmanned Carrier Aviation Program Office (PMA-268) at the Patuxent River Naval Air Station. This role is crucial in ensuring the cybersecurity integrity of our systems and requires a proactive approach to security challenges.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist PMA-268 Cyber Leads in implementing the Cybersecurity Program, including drafting and reviewing program documentation, policies, and plans.
- Coordinate with Cyber Leads to address any changes impacting system security posture, authorizations, and certifications.
- Oversee System Security Engineering activities for all relevant systems, ensuring compliance and oversight of cybersecurity measures.
- Review system documentation to maintain Subject Matter Expert (SME) level knowledge of architecture and capabilities.
- Collaborate with IPT leadership on cybersecurity impacts related to cost, schedule, and performance.
- Develop and manage a detailed Work Breakdown Schedule (WBS) for significant cybersecurity efforts.
- Contribute to Statements of Work (SOWs), Data Item Descriptions (DIDs), and Contract Data Requirements Lists (CDRLs).
- Identify and document system security requirements, conducting critical function analysis and tracking security measures.
- Lead assessments of Critical Program Information (CPI) and provide recommendations to enhance system security.
- Understand vulnerabilities and attack vectors affecting cybersecurity posture and propose effective solutions.
- Perform SSE duties in support of Cyber Survivability Risk Assessments (CSRA) and CYBERSAFE.
