Labour 24/7 Limited is seeking an experienced Tool Maker to join our dynamic team in Manchester. As a vital member of our production team, you will be responsible for the repair, maintenance, and enhancement of tooling dies, jigs, fixtures, and fittings for press tools, ensuring alignment with manufacturing and customer specifications. Your contributions will be crucial in supporting new tooling for product introductions, guaranteeing the robustness of our product builds.
Your key responsibilities will include:
- Setting up and operating a variety of conventional machine tools to manufacture precision parts.
- Machining parts according to drawings and specifications using lathes, milling machines, grinders, drills, and hand tools.
- Repairing and maintaining tools to ensure optimal performance.
- Upholding high-quality standards in all tasks while adhering to quality regulations.
- Meeting company targets for quality parts produced.
- Supporting new project tooling from commissioning to production start.
- Maintaining a clean and organized workplace using the 5S methodology (Sort, Straighten, Shine, Standardize, Sustain).
- Participating in improvement initiatives to help achieve departmental and company objectives.
Experience with CNC machining, particularly with Fanuc, vertical, and 4-axis systems, is advantageous. This position operates under general supervision and offers opportunities for growth and involvement across various business areas.
Working hours are Monday to Thursday from 8 AM to 4:30 PM and Friday from 8 AM to 1 PM, totaling 37 hours per week. Overtime opportunities are available on Friday afternoons and Saturday mornings at a rate of 1.33x.
