Observable Space is on the lookout for an innovative Mechanical Engineering Intern who possesses a solid foundation in transforming project requirements into effective designs. This role entails managing and updating all information related to projects, including design specifics, cycle times, assembly instructions, and communicating progress with relevant stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities:
Create and finalize design plans according to project scope, customer specifications, and engineering standards.
Design machine assemblies, sub-assemblies, part details, Bill of Materials (BOM), and machine timing charts.
Analyze optomechanical parts, assemblies, tolerances, manufacturability, and cost-effectiveness.
Engage in the assembly, testing, and troubleshooting of prototype designs.
Provide support to manufacturing and assembly teams through documentation and training for both new and existing products.
Ensure project requirements, schedules, and budgets are adhered to through effective communication.
Participate in project meetings to maintain a clear understanding of requirements.
Liaise with vendors as necessary.
