The Material Planner plays a crucial role in ensuring the seamless procurement of materials essential for our operations. This position involves managing incoming goods, overseeing returns, conducting inspections, and addressing supplier-related challenges. You will be responsible for forecasting supplier needs, drafting supplier contracts, and monitoring key performance indicators (KPIs) to ensure optimal supply chain efficiency. In circumstances of material shortages, you will coordinate allocations across various plants and evaluate suppliers based on their delivery reliability and overall performance.Oversee the procurement of raw materials, semi-finished, and finished goods.Maintain stock levels in alignment with established targets.Act as the primary liaison for both external and internal suppliers.Ensure the accuracy of master data within your area of responsibility.Utilize IT systems for demand planning and facilitate order transmissions to suppliers.Monitor delivery timelines and collaborate with suppliers, product planners, and production teams to coordinate special actions as necessary.Serve as a general contact for purchasing, managing escalations and supplier evaluations.Address supply shortfalls and manage allocation processes effectively.Participate in projects to fulfill procurement-related objectives.Handle material returns efficiently.Establish Kanban control cycles and supermarkets in partnership with suppliers.Support cross-functional teams and internal departments in strategic initiatives and projects.Perform additional tasks as assigned to further departmental and organizational goals.
