The Asset Engineer plays a vital role in delivering essential technical and operational support for our Waha Gas Storage (WGS) facilities located near Pecos, Texas. This position combines elements of project management, regulatory compliance, and operational efficiency. The focus will be on managing storage cavern operations, including active gas storage, dehydration processes, and the development of new salt cavern capacity, while also providing engineering support for our gas transmission assets in the Permian Basin.
Key Responsibilities:
Storage Cavern Operations (WGS)
- Project Support: Assist Project Managers in overseeing initiatives related to cavern leaching, new well drilling, and expansions of topside facilities such as Compression and TEG Dehydration.
- Capacity Planning: Create forecasts for gas storage capacity and conduct scenario analyses to optimize cavern usage and expansion timelines.
- Compliance Support: Aid in regulatory audits and participate in well-control drills to ensure compliance with safety standards.
- Commercial Support: Act as a technical liaison for inventory verification, optimizing fuel usage, and addressing abnormal operating conditions.
Midland Basin Asset Support (Delaware Basin Residue, Whistler, Matterhorn)
- Troubleshooting: Provide engineering guidance for operational challenges and improvements across the Permian Basin transmission assets.
- Hydraulic Modeling: Assist in monthly hydraulic reporting and analysis to uncover bottlenecks and identify optimization opportunities.
- Continuous Improvement: Monitor recurring operational issues and standardize technical solutions based on field feedback across various project teams.
- Ad Hoc Support: Deliver immediate engineering data and analysis to field operations as needed.
