Position Overview: The Youth Care Professional at Everstand plays a pivotal role in delivering trauma-informed direct care services, ensuring that the daily supervision of residents aligns with the agency's high standards, and collaborating effectively within an interdisciplinary team. Key Responsibilities: Exemplify and uphold Everstand’s core values: safety, empathy, relationships, and impact. Respect diverse backgrounds, recognize individuality, and amplify all voices by engaging with Everstand’s Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion (EDI) committee to facilitate trainings and group activities that enhance the agency's EDI commitment. Demonstrate the use of inclusive language. Embrace Everstand’s leadership philosophy: “Choose kindness. Solve problems and learn together. Make it happen.” Adopt a trauma-informed approach to programming, ensuring both physical and emotional safety for residents and their families. Utilize approved, youth-guided techniques to foster healthy, trusting relationships with residents. This relationship serves as a foundation for recovery and skill-building, as outlined in Everstand’s Theory of Change. Implement each resident’s individualized care plans and maintain accurate documentation, including shift logs, bed checks, and significant incident reports, thereby promoting effective communication through timely submissions. Achieve and maintain certification as a “user” in Everstand’s electronic health record system. Guide residents in developing essential life skills for interpersonal relationships and social interactions, covering areas such as empathy, effective communication, conflict resolution, friendship formation, and peer pressure resistance. Encourage a positive self-image among residents and assist them in establishing personal care routines while ensuring a clean and orderly living environment. The Youth Care Professional is responsible for meeting housekeeping standards and reporting any items needing replacement or repair. Support youth with their Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including toileting as necessary. Follow Everstand’s guidelines for conducting searches as per program standards. Adhere to resident supervision protocols, including providing enhanced oversight and monitoring as required by clinical or program specifications. Observe and learn from clinical staff methods/techniques and participate in the treatment of residents through interaction, limit setting, and the implementation of safety and treatment plans.
