This is a 12-hour shift - 6:00 PM to 6:00 AM. Enjoy a 10% shift differential for night shifts.
Position Overview: The Injection Molding Set Up Technician is crucial for the seamless startup, operation, and Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) of molding and assembly equipment. This role ensures that the packaging of molded and/or assembled components meets both company and customer specifications.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist with and understand the responsibilities of Operator Level 1 and 2.
- Conduct thorough visual inspections of products to identify defects as per production specifications.
- Maintain a clean workspace and uphold 55 Standards in the work area on a daily, weekly, and monthly basis.
- Input validated master cycle parameters into the Injection Molding machine at each startup.
- Load programs and align automated and robotic systems.
- Ensure Injection Molding machines operate to standard and that product quality meets specifications at each startup.
- Troubleshoot minor to mid-level process issues and escalate to Setter Level 2 or Maintenance when necessary.
- Respond to alarms and manage the start and stop of machines after initial startup.
- Access required documentation from the TMS to assist with quality-related decisions.
- Perform line clearances as necessary.
- Clean injection molds following work instructions.
- Pull and set molds.
- Handle color changes and material lots as needed, ensuring traceability documentation is complete.
- Execute assembly startup batches/shots for product changes or new versions (same reference).
- Complete TPM tasks for Assembly, Injection Molding, and auxiliary equipment at Level 1.
- Fill out cycle checklists.
- Implement Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) procedures for any unsafe equipment.
- Contribute to Lean initiatives and take part in Lean projects.
- Propose and engage in Process Improvement activities to eliminate non-value-added tasks.
- Adhere to all company policies, including ISO Standards and Health and Safety regulations.
