Role overview
This Manufacturing Equipment Engineer position is based in Burlingame, CA and reports to the Manufacturing Equipment Engineering Manager. The role sits within the Manufacturing Engineering department and is a full-time opportunity.
What you will do
- Lead the design, deployment, and optimization of manufacturing equipment for both current operations and future facility expansions.
- Oversee the setup of production lines at the Sacramento site, managing projects from concept and Design for Manufacturability (DFM) through vendor engagement, installation, commissioning, and validation.
- Design and implement advanced manufacturing equipment and tools to support efficient, scalable production processes.
- Introduce new machinery and automation systems, and drive improvements to existing production lines to meet production goals and safety standards.
- Ensure all equipment meets operational efficiency targets and regulatory requirements.
- Serve as the main point of contact for equipment-related projects, collaborating with process, quality, design, and manufacturing teams.
- Contribute directly to building production capacity toward the company’s target of 1 GWh for Energy Storage Systems by 2027.
