Key Responsibilities:• Oversee and evaluate the ongoing activities of Lines of Business (LOBs) and Support Units to ensure adherence to regulatory, investor, and internal business policies and procedures.• Collaborate in the creation, implementation, and upkeep of testing and monitoring examination frameworks and risk assessment programs.• Partner with Compliance team members to identify critical focus areas for in-depth review.• Provide assistance to the Compliance Director on various projects.• Work alongside LOBs to improve and implement controls addressing identified deficiencies.• Aid in the development and recommendation of policies, procedures, and programs aimed at ensuring compliance with current regulations and best practices.

Key ResponsibilitiesSupport the creation and upkeep of compliance implementation and risk assessment programs to ensure adherence to laws, regulations, and agency guidelines related to mortgage origination.Propose, develop, and enact modifications to current and forthcoming procedures, policies, and programs.Assist in drafting, preparing, and distributing new and updated compliance standards and procedures.Stay informed about regulatory and legal changes affecting mortgage origination.Provide strategic advice and insights to senior management and staff on emerging compliance challenges, helping establish controls to mitigate risk.Collaborate with various departments to formulate forms and disclosure documents that comply with all applicable laws, regulations, investor programs, and internal policies.Identify, communicate, and help design compliance education programs, and provide compliance training.Draft summaries of legislative changes and assist in publishing compliance bulletins.Help origination support units in designing and implementing legislative or regulatory changes.Create training, test plans, or reporting as necessary to ensure understanding of new regulations or legislation.Draft effective compliance policies and procedures, ensuring that compliance manuals are up-to-date.Assist in annual compliance testing plans and the maintenance of compliance risk assessments.Understand federal compliance statutes, regulations, and state laws, assessing their impact on existing origination or servicing policies and business practices.Evaluate compliance risks relative to federal regulations and state laws, considering potential civil penalties, reputational risk, regulatory risk, scope, controls, and potential non-compliance.Conduct periodic assessment reviews and transactional testing of business processes with compliance implications.Execute special projects as required.
