Job Summary:
The Quality Assurance Associate is an essential role that involves learning and developing key skills in construction techniques and supervision under the mentorship of experienced Construction Managers and/or a Construction Area Manager. This position is designed to cultivate construction superintendent capabilities by assisting in the coordination of on-site construction activities within assigned subdivisions, as well as monitoring the completion of each construction phase through inspections, scheduling, and coordination tasks as directed by the construction superintendent.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the Quality Control Inspection (QCI) process alongside Construction and Customer Care teams to ensure 100% completed homes at delivery.
- Serve as a liaison among Operations, Construction, Customer Care, and external agencies to facilitate job completion and mitigate service issues.
- Guarantee that construction materials and workmanship are of the highest quality to minimize future service complications.
- Coordinate quality assurance initiatives between construction and sales teams.
- Conduct quality inspections at various stages of the construction process to ensure compliance with quality standards.
- Engage in training and learning about the M/I Homes Construction Process through various tasks and activities related to all construction phases, including participation in key builder/homeowner construction meetings such as Buyer Builder Conferences and New Home Orientations.
- Assist in the inspection of homes at different construction stages to monitor workflow, quality, and completion timelines.
- Review and confirm blueprints for accuracy.
- Help schedule subcontractors and oversee the completion of work, including the delivery and utilization of materials, supplies, tools, machinery, and equipment.
- Act as a point of contact between subcontractors and construction management, monitoring work quality and progress while reporting any issues arising from inspections.
