The Role:
The Pipeline Pre-Commissioning Operator / Technician plays a crucial role in executing hands-on field activities associated with pipeline pre-commissioning operations. This includes essential tasks such as flooding, cleaning, gauging, hydrotesting, dewatering, drying, nitrogen purging, and intelligent pigging. The ideal candidate will possess a solid operational understanding of equipment setup, pig loading, chemical injection systems, and nitrogen membrane units.
Main Responsibilities:
- Assist with the setup, operation, and maintenance of pre-commissioning equipment, including:
- Suction/lift pumps, filtration skids, break tanks
- Hydrotest pumps and chemical dosing units
- Nitrogen membrane units, air dryers, and compressors
- Load and launch pigs and in-line inspection tools from pig launcher/receivers.
- Monitor flow, pressure, and chemical dosage in accordance with operational guidelines.
- Accurately record field data relating to pressure, chemical injection, water sampling, and pig tracking.
- Support pig tracking utilizing electromagnetic receivers and magnetic detection systems.
- Engage in toolbox talks, Job Safety Analyses (JSAs), and strictly adhere to all Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) protocols.
- Report any equipment malfunctions or operational discrepancies to the Supervisor.
- Assist in the post-operation cleaning and maintenance of equipment.
