Your New Role – IT Operations Manager
Reporting directly to the IT Manager, you will be an integral part of a dynamic internal IT team, assuming operational ownership of Winthrop’s IT landscape. Although daily technical operations are managed by external service providers, you will have complete responsibility for operational performance, service quality, and security governance.
This position offers substantial autonomy and visibility, allowing you to significantly influence IT service delivery within the organization.
Your primary responsibilities will encompass:
IT Operations & Service Management
- Oversee the day-to-day operational health of IT services throughout the organization
- Guarantee availability, performance, and resilience of critical IT systems
- Manage and enhance incident, problem, and change management processes
- Keep precise operational documentation, runbooks, and procedures to ensure consistent service delivery
Microsoft Platform Ownership
- Serve as the internal technical authority for the Microsoft environment, which includes:
Azure, Entra ID, Active Directory, Intune, Microsoft Defender Suite, and M365 - Ensure secure configuration, standardization, and lifecycle management across platforms
- Monitor and interpret the Microsoft roadmap to ensure best practices align with business requirements
Security & Risk Management
- Assume operational ownership of IT security controls within the Microsoft ecosystem
- Guarantee effective security measures across endpoint protection, identity security, and cloud application governance
- Collaborate closely with the MSP and security partners to manage threats, incidents, and remediation
- Ensure security exceptions are risk-assessed, approved, documented, and reviewed
Vendor & Third-Party Management
- Manage key external partners, including MSPs, MSSPs, SaaS, and technology vendors
- Establish and maintain strong relationships with these partners to optimize service delivery
