Role Overview
The Silicon Team in Edinburgh is a focused group developing high-value silicon that supports AST’s goal of connecting the unconnected. As a SoC/ASIC Architect, this role centers on designing and defining next-generation silicon for the world’s first space-based mobile broadband network.
What You Will Do
- Lead the architecture and design of complex System-on-Chips (SoCs) for satellite communication platforms.
- Translate system and product requirements into clear, high-quality architectural specifications.
- Guide technical decisions from concept through implementation, shaping the performance and efficiency of AST’s silicon solutions.
- Work closely with internal teams and external partners to deliver reliable, high-performance silicon on schedule.
- Make direct, hands-on contributions to silicon design choices that impact the company’s global communications network.
