Job Summary/Technical Knowledge
Recognize hazards and uphold a clean, organized workspace.
Execute routine preventive maintenance and perform basic repairs on various equipment used at Saronic.
Serve as a technical resource for production and procurement teams.
Possess knowledge of installation, repair, and maintenance of mechanical and electrical systems, as well as the associated components of industrial machinery.
Be prepared to work at heights (using scaffolds or manlifts) and in confined spaces.
On-site training will be provided.
Job Proficiency
Conduct routine maintenance and inspections on shipyard equipment, which includes telehandlers, forklifts, cherry pickers, manlifts, welding machines, power tools, industrial manufacturing equipment, compressors, etc.
Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic issues to ensure efficient shipyard operations.
Perform preventative maintenance to reduce equipment failures and downtime.
Keep precise records of maintenance activities, including repairs performed and parts utilized.
Assist in the installation and commissioning of new equipment as necessary.
Carry out both routine maintenance and emergency repairs.
Culture and Collaboration
Adhere to all shipyard safety protocols, including the proper use of PPE, fire prevention measures, and confined space safety procedures.
Contribute to the training and development of junior maintenance technicians.
Collaborate with welders, metal fitters, pipefitters, electricians, and other trades to complete vessel construction or repair, ensuring efficient workflows.
Work autonomously and as part of a team in a dynamic ship production environment.
Maintain a clean and safe work area.
