Position Overview:
We are on the lookout for a talented Intermediate Instrumentation and Controls Designer to join our dynamic Guelph office. This role is pivotal in shaping control system designs for transit and water/wastewater projects, with exciting prospects in diverse critical infrastructure domains. This role supports a hybrid work arrangement, allowing flexibility in your work environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Craft detailed control system schematics, including installation specifics, loop diagrams, and wiring layouts.
- Generate Process Control Narratives, functional descriptions, and I/O Lists to meet project specifications.
- Assist in the creation and enhancement of Process and Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs).
- Specify instrumentation and select appropriate technologies based on project requirements and process interactions.
- Conduct site visits to evaluate and document existing conditions at client facilities.
- Review vendor drawings to ensure compliance with specifications and client needs.
- Uphold adherence to client and company standards, while applying sound design practices.
- Engage in projects that range from small-scale I&C initiatives to large multifaceted projects, collaborating with a multidisciplinary team for successful design outcomes.
- Contribute to technical report writing and cost estimation, assisting clients in planning for future upgrades.
- Participate actively in Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT) and Site Acceptance Testing (SAT) processes.
- Support construction projects through contractor submittal reviews, onsite inspections, and testing observations.
