Our commitment to supporting veterans has led to the establishment of the Kia Veterans Technician Apprenticeship Program (VTAP), designed to provide comprehensive training and career advancement in the automotive industry.Job Responsibilities:Diagnose, maintain, and repair a range of Kia vehicles, focusing on key components such as engines, transmissions, steering, suspension, brakes, HVAC, and electrical systems.Accurately complete repair and warranty orders in alignment with established Kia and retailer guidelines.Conduct test drives to analyze and diagnose vehicle systems and components utilizing advanced Kia diagnostic tools and strategies.Perform services, diagnostics, and repairs promptly, ensuring effective communication with the shop foreman and service advisor to enhance the customer experience.This opportunity is presented through independently owned Kia retailers. Applicants will be considered for full-time positions with participating retailers, not directly with Kia America, Inc. or its subsidiaries. All employment opportunities are subject to applicable federal and state employment regulations.Requirements:Qualifications:Must have an honorable discharge from military service.Possess a valid driver's license from any state with a clean driving record.Experience in a technical or mechanical field is essential.Applicants must be willing to undergo drug screening and background checks.Benefits of Kia VTAP Apprenticeship:Full-time employment with a participating Kia retailer.A veteran-specific program, facilitated by veterans, ensuring relatable support and mentorship.Participation in a one-year competency-based apprenticeship approved by the GI Bill, leading to Kia Service Technician certification.Access to all necessary tools, equipment, vehicles, and training to successfully complete the apprenticeship and obtain certification.Eligible veterans may qualify for a substantial GI Bill Monthly Housing Allowance (MHA) during their apprenticeship.
