About the job
Join our dynamic team at Vital Link, Inc. (VLI) as a Traveling Welder, where you'll play a crucial role in the repair, maintenance, and installation of USAF Noise Suppressors, including Engine Test Cells and Hush Houses. This position involves full-time travel across the U. S. and potentially overseas, requiring a collaborative spirit to work effectively within a small Contract Field Team.
We are currently looking for both Journeyman and entry-level welders. As part of your role, you will support various trades including structural ironwork, sheet metal work, welding, mechanical installations, and maintenance. A general understanding of industrial construction is essential, while experience in steel erection and refurbishment will be advantageous. You must be able to read blueprints, and for Journeyman candidates, a minimum of five years of experience is required.
At VLI, we value versatility; while no employee is expected to cover all trades, a willingness to learn and support multiple areas is highly desired. Travel expenses will be reimbursed, and per diem will be provided. Reliable transportation is necessary for travel within the Continental U. S., and candidates must pass a background check for access to military installations.
We offer competitive wages and benefits, including holiday, vacation, and fringe benefits, all governed by the Service Contract Act for prevailing wages. If you're seeking a long-term career in a specialized industry with opportunities for growth, we invite you to apply.
VLI is proud to be an Equal Opportunity Employer, welcoming Veterans and individuals with disabilities.
