prime-system is hiring a Network Operations Center Engineer (NOC Engineer) to help keep client IT environments stable and secure. This remote role, based in Johannesburg South, Gauteng, focuses on anticipating and resolving network issues before they escalate. The position involves routine maintenance on network devices and calls for someone who can manage high-pressure client situations while providing strong customer service.
Main Responsibilities
- Use scripting and automation tools to streamline processes and reduce response times for network issues.
- Design and implement automation solutions to lower failure rates and minimize manual intervention on support tickets.
- Develop internal tools that help engineers resolve problems quickly and efficiently.
- Create self-service options so clients can address common issues independently.
- Establish a proforma for each automation project to evaluate potential savings, project timelines, and expected ROI.
- Maintain and secure a central repository for scripts.
- Produce regular reports on the progress of automation projects.
- Build custom reports for the NOC and Service Desk using Power BI and BrightGauge.
- Automate patching for Windows, third-party, and Mac systems with tools such as Kaseya VSA, Addigy, and Intune.
- Manage updates for the RMM platform (Kaseya) and analytics platform (BrightGauge).
- Deliver automated reports on patch status and endpoint compliance.
- Work with other IT teams to ensure automation solutions fit seamlessly with current systems and workflows.
- Document automation scripts, tools, and procedures thoroughly.
- Provide technical support and guidance to both clients and team members on automation solutions and industry best practices.
