Catalyx is hiring an experienced Automation Engineer (DCS) to join the team at a client site in Kalundborg, Denmark. This role centers on supporting life science organizations by improving operational efficiency with Distributed Control Systems, particularly ABB 800xA. The position plays a key part in Catalyx’s commitment to delivering lifecycle services and building strong on-site teams for customers.
What you will do
- Design, develop, and implement application programs for the ABB 800xA Distributed Control System.
- Write code that is efficient, maintainable, and scalable, following industry standards.
- Integrate new applications with existing systems to ensure smooth operations.
- Configure and maintain the ABB 800xA DCS to meet operational needs.
- Monitor system performance and troubleshoot technical issues as they arise.
- Apply system updates and patches to maintain security and reliability.
Requirements
- Over 5 years of experience with ABB’s 800xA system (experience from other sectors is also considered).
- Knowledge of insulin manufacturing processes such as fermentation, harvesting, centrifugation, HPLC purification, and freeze-drying.
- Familiarity with Clean Utilities processes, including clean steam and purified water, as well as SIP/CIP protocols.
- Understanding of S88 Batch programming is an advantage.
- Experience with GMP, GAMP, and Computer Validation practices is beneficial.
