**JOB SUMMARY:**
As a Lead Backend Engineer, you will oversee data interchange between the server and users. Your primary responsibilities will include developing server-side logic, defining and maintaining the central database, and ensuring outstanding performance and responsiveness to front-end requests. You will also integrate front-end elements built by your team members, necessitating a foundational understanding of front-end technologies.
**ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:**
▪ Maintain a stable server with zero downtime
▪ Collaborate with product and design teams to understand user requirements, develop use cases, and translate them into effective technical solutions.
▪ Identify, prioritize, and execute tasks throughout the software development lifecycle.
▪ Create tools and applications by writing clean, efficient code.
▪ Automate tasks through suitable tools and scripting.
▪ Review and debug existing code.
▪ Develop software solutions by assessing information needs and collaborating with users to study systems flow, data usage, and work processes.
▪ Evaluate operational feasibility by analyzing requirements and proposed solutions.
▪ Mentor junior engineers and collaborate on brainstorming new product ideas.
**COMPETENCY PROFILE:**
**TECHNICAL REQUIREMENTS**
● Proven experience as a Back-End Developer
● Deep understanding of web development
● Proficiency in programming languages such as Java, Ruby, PHP, and Python
● Strong experience with CMS frameworks
● Basic knowledge of front-end technologies like JavaScript, HTML5, and CSS3
● Familiarity with server-side CSS preprocessors (LESS, SASS)
● Awareness of accessibility and security compliance
● Experience with user authentication and authorization across multiple systems
● Capability to create libraries and tools for engineers and operations
● Expertise in building scalable back-end systems
● Experience with SQL or NoSQL databases
● Leadership skills and ability to manage teams effectively.
