This presents a unique opportunity for you to witness your engineering solutions put into practice in complex, real-world settings. This position is situated within the Defense Technologies Engineering Division (DTED) of the Engineering Directorate.Due to the nature of the work, this position requires full-time on-site presence.This position may be filled at either level depending on the knowledge and relevant experience evaluated by the hiring team. Additional responsibilities will be assigned if hired at the higher level.Your Key Responsibilities Include:Creating electrical designs and packages for integrating programmatic equipment and systems within nuclear facilities, focusing on power distribution, control, and monitoring interfaces.Collaborating with programmatic and facility stakeholders to extract engineering requirements, identify equipment power needs, and convert them into conceptual and detailed electrical designs.Conducting essential engineering analyses and calculations, including load studies, voltage drop assessments, protective device coordination, and any further evaluations necessary to ensure safe and reliable integration with existing utilities.Working with the Building Authority Having Jurisdiction (AHJ) and facility engineering staff to guarantee that designs comply with laboratory requirements, the National Electrical Code (NEC), and other relevant standards and institutional guidelines.Supporting and participating in the detailed design process, which includes developing drawings, specifications, and bills of materials, while coordinating with fabrication and installation teams.Reviewing and assessing vendor and fabrication submissions to confirm technical compliance and ensure that procured equipment can be integrated into existing facility infrastructure and power sources.Engaging in field walkdowns, construction, installation, and startup activities.
