The Role... The Deputy Creative Lead plays a vital role in assisting the Creative Director to manage the daily operations of the design department. This position is pivotal in ensuring top-tier design and art direction, streamlined workflows, creative uniformity, and punctual delivery for all Soho House projects. The ideal candidate will embody both a design leader and operational manager, balancing team workloads while upholding brand standards. They will ensure that all design outputs resonate with the company’s visual identity and creative vision. Additionally, the Deputy Creative Lead will represent the Creative Director in senior meetings, acting as a liaison and advocate for the content and design teams. This dynamic role demands equal proficiency in both design and organizational skills. Key Responsibilities Daily Design Operations Oversee the daily workflow of the design department, ensuring timely and high-quality task completion. Track live design requests, monitor project progress, and balance team workloads effectively. Maintain oversight of all incoming briefs, prioritizing tasks based on business requirements and deadlines. Supervise color grading, image editing, and design refinements to uphold creative quality and consistency across the team, including international collaborators. Approve design outputs for newsletters, social media graphics, and pre-press print materials prior to distribution. Serve as a senior graphic designer and art director, allowing the Creative Director to focus on larger projects and high-level art direction. Brand Standards & Quality Control Ensure that all creative outputs comply with brand guidelines and visual standards established by the Creative Director and leadership team. Provide insightful feedback to designers, maintaining quality across all visual touchpoints in alignment with the standards set by the Creative Director. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure that creative work aligns with strategic and commercial objectives. Team Leadership & Communication Act as the primary contact for the design team regarding project timelines, priorities, and workload management. Represent the design team in senior management and inter-departmental meetings while deputizing for the Creative Director. Reporting & Workflow Management Monitor and report on project status, team capacity, and workload distribution to the Creative Director, Chief Content Officer, and Head of Creative Operations. Identify and address potential bottlenecks in workflows, ensuring smooth operation across the department.
