With an impressive annual revenue of £180 million and a workforce exceeding 3,000, complemented by a robust network of volunteers and partners, the organization is embarking on its most ambitious strategic refresh in a decade. This initiative involves a comprehensive reassessment of their service delivery model, funding strategies, and organizational structure. The new Strategy Director will maintain a direct relationship with the CEO and play a crucial role in steering the organization’s strategic direction for the next five years.
The Role
In the capacity of Non-Profit Strategy Director, you will spearhead the formulation, communication, and execution of the organization’s corporate strategy. You will serve as a trusted strategic advisor to the CEO and senior leadership, guide a dedicated internal strategy team, and champion significant strategic initiatives that will shape the organization’s impact over the next decade.
Key Responsibilities
Lead the creation of the organization’s five-year corporate strategy, collaborating across service delivery, fundraising, and operations.
Oversee the strategic planning process, converting long-term objectives into actionable annual priorities and funded plans.
Design and facilitate strategic evaluations and option analyses for pivotal decisions, including service transformations, geographic expansions, and new partnership models.
Act as a collaborative thought partner to the CEO and Chair, offering objective insights and straightforward advice on the organization’s most pressing challenges.
Cultivate and manage the organization’s relationships with key strategic partners, funders, and policy stakeholders.
Qualifications
A minimum of 10–15 years of experience in strategy consulting, public policy, or a senior strategic leadership role, ideally with substantial exposure to the non-profit or public sector.
A strong commitment to social impact, with a nuanced understanding of the unique challenges and opportunities within the voluntary sector.
Outstanding analytical and communication skills, adept at navigating complex issues and providing clarity in challenging discussions.
Proven track record of leading strategic initiatives and managing teams effectively.
