Role Overview:
We are in search of a skilled commercial lawyer to become a vital member of Kong's global commercial legal team, dedicated to fostering our sales initiatives. In this pivotal role, you will serve as a trusted advisor to the EMEA revenue teams, while also supporting our APAC and AMER sales teams as required. This unique opportunity allows you to significantly contribute to EMEA's go-to-market strategies as we expand. Your responsibilities will include drafting, structuring, and negotiating customer contracts with leading brands across various sectors, including finance, technology, and retail. You will evaluate legal and business risks, provide sound guidance, and address a broad spectrum of issues related to SaaS, AI, privacy, security, alliances, open-source software, and intellectual property. Additionally, you will collaborate with the Kong Legal team to navigate corporate, compliance, and other legal matters, while helping to establish scalable systems and processes.
You will report to the Senior Director, Global Commercial, based in London, UK.
Your Responsibilities:
Act as a trusted advisor and business partner across all levels of Kong’s EMEA sales team, from VP to Account Executive
Provide support to our AMER and APAC sales teams as needed
Lead intricate cross-border commercial transactions with sophisticated stakeholders throughout EMEA
Review, draft, and negotiate a diverse array of commercial agreements
Ensure compliance with various laws and regulations affecting our enterprise software and SaaS offerings, including intellectual property, privacy, security, and compliance
Collaborate with Finance, Sales Ops, and Deal Ops to facilitate the entire contract negotiation and closing process
Advise internal stakeholders on legal matters as they arise
