Join our client, a prominent civil engineering contractor, as a Tunnel (SCL) Section Engineer. You will be an integral part of a highly skilled team, contributing to one of London's most esteemed rail projects. The successful candidate will oversee contract aspects within the Tunnel Team, focusing on work control and delivering technical guidance for both Squareworks and SCL.Key Responsibilities:• Execute all tasks in line with the designated Inspection and Test Plan (ITP), ensuring compliance with established standards.• Maintain profile control during excavation and spraying when working on SCL.• Conduct site operations safely, prioritizing the protection of workforce, public, and environmental integrity, including managing exclusion zones.• Ensure all construction activities are performed efficiently, meet required quality, and adhere to contract timelines.• Develop and evaluate Method Statements and ITPs.• Oversee the materials approval process and optimize material usage while managing waste control.• Validate and endorse Check Sheets.• Perform inspections as stipulated by ITPs.• Compile shift reports outlining daily activities, including a detailed chart of work performed at quarter-hour intervals. Generate weekly reports on site advancements.• Coordinate with London Underground (LU) Inspectors.Previous Experience & Qualifications:• Proficient in English, both written and verbal, with the ability to report at a management level.• A Construction Engineer with experience in similar roles and projects, particularly in medium to large-scale tunneling projects, with expertise in preparing documentation and coordinating physical activities.• Experience providing technical and engineering support on previous tunneling contracts, ideally involving SCL Primary Lining and Squareworks.• Minimum educational requirement of HNC - HND or equivalent in construction or a related field. Extensive experience in a similar capacity may compensate for lower educational qualifications.• Preferred membership in a relevant professional body at the Graduate or Associate level.• Must possess a valid CSCS Card.• Required to hold SSTS/SMSTS certification.• Holding a Tunnel Safety Card/Tunnel Safety Training Scheme card is preferable.
