KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Patch Management Strategy:
- Architect, implement, and sustain comprehensive enterprise patch management frameworks.
- Create policies, standards, and procedures that align with security and compliance mandates.
- Formulate patch prioritization models based on risk, criticality, and business significance.
Vulnerability Remediation:
- Lead remediation initiatives driven by insights from vulnerability scanning tools.
- Coordinate urgent patching efforts for zero-day vulnerabilities and high-severity CVEs.
- Deliver risk-based recommendations to stakeholders and leadership.
Infrastructure & Systems Management:
- Oversee patching activities across Windows, Linux, virtualized settings, and network systems.
- Administer enterprise patching solutions such as SCCM/MECM, WSUS, Red Hat Satellite, and Ansible.
- Manage patching within virtualized and cloud ecosystems (AWS, Azure, GCP).
- Ensure minimal service disruption through systematic testing and deployment cycles.
Automation & Optimization:
- Create and maintain automation scripts (PowerShell, Bash, Python) to enhance patch deployment efficiency.
- Continuously refine patch compliance metrics and reporting dashboards.
- Establish rollback and contingency plans.
Compliance & Reporting:
- Guarantee compliance with regulatory and industry standards (e.g., ISO 27001, NIST, HIPAA).
- Compile patch compliance reports for audits and executive review.
- Monitor SLAs and KPIs for patch remediation timelines.
Collaboration & Leadership:
- Serve as a technical lead and mentor for junior engineers.
- Collaborate closely with Security, Infrastructure, DevOps, and Application teams.
- Engage in change management and CAB meetings.
- Support incident response initiatives concerning unpatched vulnerabilities.
