Appian’s Customer Success team in McLean, Virginia, is looking for a Senior Technical Consultant to help clients achieve their digital transformation goals with the Appian platform. This role centers on supporting organizations after the sales process, building tailored software and AI-powered applications that deliver measurable business results.
Role overview
The Senior Technical Consultant leads the full lifecycle of client projects. This includes defining requirements, designing solutions, developing software, and implementing applications for commercial clients. The position works closely with both technical teams and business users, ensuring solutions fit each client’s unique needs.
What you will do
- Guide projects from initial definition through design, development, and implementation of custom software for clients.
- Work in an agile setting to understand client business processes and technical requirements.
- Deploy new relational data models and develop APIs to connect systems.
- Explore and implement AI use cases, such as retrieval-augmented generation (RAG), agentic workflows, prompt engineering, and generative models using Appian’s AI capabilities.
- Collaborate with technical teams and business users throughout project delivery.
- Help clients build and manage their own process applications on the Appian platform.
Location and work environment
This position is based at Appian headquarters in McLean, VA. In-person collaboration is important, with employees expected onsite 4 to 5 days per week. The team values teamwork, knowledge sharing, and celebrating achievements together. Most client work also happens face-to-face, supporting strong relationships and effective project delivery.
