Role Overview: Field Service Lead
The Field Service Lead manages and mentors a team of approximately eight field service technicians and engineers. This position combines hands-on technical work with oversight responsibilities across 2 to 6 active customer sites in Mississippi. The main focus is on start-up, commissioning, troubleshooting, and maintenance of IEM products.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide daily guidance, coaching, and technical support to field service technicians.
- Direct and manage start-up and commissioning operations for electrical equipment at customer locations, ensuring projects finish on schedule with minimal unresolved issues.
- Deliver mentorship and training to the field service team, supporting skill development and performance.
- Serve as the technical authority for product knowledge and advanced troubleshooting, assisting both technicians and engineers.
- Travel to IEM manufacturing or field service facilities as needed to lead training sessions, factory witness tests, and shop testing.
- Identify and report project risks that could affect technician success, escalating concerns to management for timely resolution.
- Collaborate on job sites to close out project start-up and commissioning, resolve outstanding tasks, and update punch lists with Project Managers to ensure proper project closure and paperwork completion.
- Coordinate with commercial and administrative teams for requests outside standard start-up and commissioning activities.
- Ensure technicians have the required tools, materials, and documentation for efficient site work.
- Communicate product or quality concerns to management, working with production and engineering teams to address issues.
- Work with the Division Manager, Field Service Manager, Field Service Support, and Site Operations Representative to schedule additional field resources and teams as service needs arise.
Location
This position is based in Mississippi and involves travel to customer sites and IEM facilities as required.
