This role entails overseeing medium-to-high-voltage substation power delivery equipment such as breakers, switchgears, circuit breakers, relays, and transformers. Additionally, you will mentor and educate junior technologists in reading and interpreting prints, implementing risk management strategies, and promoting industry best practices. You will also take a lead role in setting up and operating standard and specialized test equipment to diagnose and analyze the performance of power delivery equipment on-site.Key ResponsibilitiesFoster and uphold a strong safety culture among all construction team members.Commission and test high voltage equipment including circuit breakers, transformers, manual and motor-operated switches, current transformers, voltage transformers, capacitor banks, and circuit switchers.Commission protection and control relays from manufacturers such as SEL, GE, Siemens, and ABB.Commission control circuits for protection, indication, and monitoring systems.Conduct acceptance and maintenance testing on electrical equipment ranging from 600V to 500kV.Install, commission, and maintain protection and control equipment, including SCADA systems in medium to high-voltage transmission substations.Engage with various protection schemes, including differential, distance, line protections, transformer protections, and overcurrent protections.Interpret electrical drawings and schematics, analyze test results, and recommend corrective actions.
