About the job
About Us
Sapien is revolutionizing the operational dynamics of finance teams in the AI era. We are on a mission to create an autonomous CFO, a comprehensive system that manages company financials from start to finish. Our innovative platform processes intricate financial data in real-time, enhancing decision-making speed, avoiding costly errors, and revealing significant value. With our technology, Sapien has detected multi-million-dollar discrepancies, safeguarded numerous jobs, and contributed substantial savings to our clients’ financial health.
We collaborate with a variety of traditional sectors, such as manufacturing, healthcare, dining, and large corporations, to thoroughly understand and automate their financial workflows. Our headquarters is located by Madison Square Park in New York City, and we are proudly supported by General Catalyst, Neo, and esteemed professionals from Google, OpenAI, Microsoft, Ramp, and Stripe (having raised over $9 million).
The Role
At Sapien, community engagement is a vital part of our strategy, serving not merely as a marketing tool but as a cornerstone for building trust with finance leaders, identifying potential collaborators, and fostering the company culture that drives our success.
In this role, you will work closely with the CEO, serving as a hybrid community architect, talent scout, and chief of staff. We seek a candidate who possesses a deep understanding of the technology and finance landscape, likely honed through experience in venture capital, startup operations, or a similar role where relationship-building and talent evaluation were key components.
Key Responsibilities
Event Management: Oversee planning and execution of weekly dinners, monthly hiring events in New York City, and CFO dinners in NYC plus two additional locations each month. Manage the comprehensive Sapien event calendar on Luma, including reading groups, team gatherings, and external programming.
Recruitment Processes: Actively source candidates using LinkedIn, Sales Navigator, and other relevant channels. Organize coffee chats, assist with candidate screening, and facilitate movement through the recruitment pipeline in Ashby.
Candidate Experience: Ensure that every prospective hire experiences the warmth of the Sapien community before their first day, through personalized outreach, event invitations, and LinkedIn recognitions for new teammates. Capture memorable moments at events and throughout the team.
Performance Tracking: Manage key performance indicators across community engagement and recruitment: event-to-interview conversion rates, candidate touchpoints to hire, and channel effectiveness. Utilize data to enhance processes rather than merely report them.
Internal Programming: Organize in-office activities such as AI reading groups, poker nights, and team dinners, ensuring these experiences are documented and shared.
CEO Support: Assist the CEO with various initiatives and tasks as required.
