We are seeking a dedicated Indexer/Copyeditor Consultant to join our team, working with a prestigious media client. This is a contract position lasting 11 months, based in Newark, NJ.
The ideal candidate will have a recent B. A/B. S. or equivalent degree, preferably in Humanities, along with a strong editorial background in preparing online content. You should possess at least two years of proofreading and copyediting experience.
As an Indexer/Copyeditor Consultant, you will be responsible for creating, entering, editing, and maintaining product metadata with a keen focus on accuracy and completeness. You will work collaboratively with a diverse team, addressing various content-related issues and ensuring that all product information is polished and ready for publication.
We are looking for someone who is not only an avid consumer of media, including books, blogs, and digital content, but also a self-starter with excellent organizational and analytical skills. Strong written and verbal communication skills are essential, as well as the ability to thrive in a dynamic environment. Prior experience in proofreading and copyediting is highly desirable.
