Role Overview
The Vice President of Hardware Engineering leads the design, development, and scaling of Rhoda’s robotics systems from concept through mass production. This executive role builds and guides a top-tier hardware engineering organization, shapes product architecture, and ensures delivery of systems that meet the demands of industrial applications. Rhoda AI is committed to overcoming the hardware barriers that have limited robotics in real-world environments.
What You Will Do
Product and System Leadership
- Work closely with Product Management to define system requirements and outline product roadmaps.
- Translate product needs into clear engineering specifications and system architectures.
- Lead hardware development across mechanical, electrical, and systems engineering teams.
Design and Development
- Oversee the design and development of robotic systems, including manipulation platforms, end effectors, sensor integration, and compute and control systems.
- Ensure systems remain reliable and safe under real-world operational stresses, including variability, wear, and uptime demands.
Execution and Delivery
- Manage the full product lifecycle: from concept and prototyping through validation, new product introduction, and volume production.
- Set up and enforce rigorous test and validation protocols covering functionality, reliability, and safety.
- Develop engineering processes and standards to support product development and maintain quality assurance.
