Role Overview Techflow is hiring a NICET II Certified Fire Sprinkler Technician to join the team at Naval Air Station Patuxent River in Maryland. This role focuses on installing, repairing, and replacing fire sprinkler systems across residential, industrial, and commercial settings. The position supports facilities throughout the Tri-County area, including communities such as California, Ridge, Hollywood, Mechanicsville, Leonardtown, Waldorf, La Plata, Lusby, and Solomons. Compensation and Benefits Hourly wage: $40.82 to $47.65, based on certifications and experience, with annual increases. Health & Welfare Benefit: $27.99 per hour, increasing each year. Total compensation rate: $68.81 to $75.64 per hour. Insurance benefits and a 401k plan included. Main Responsibilities Install, repair, and replace fire sprinkler systems and components such as post-indicator valves, outside stem and yoke valves, waterflow switches, tamper switches, sprinkler heads, and stock boxes. Conduct fire pump testing and respond to emergency service calls. Cut, thread, assemble, and bond pipes and tubes to meet fire safety inspection standards. Inspect fire sprinkler systems to ensure compliance with codes and regulations. Perform preventive maintenance and repairs, developing maintenance programs in line with NFPA codes. Complete detailed inspection reports and document any issues found. Provide preliminary cost estimates for required materials and services. Maintain accurate reporting as directed by program leadership. Keep licenses and identification current to comply with government requirements. Carry out other related duties as assigned. Key Skills and Qualifications NICET II Certification required. Experience in both residential and industrial/commercial fire sprinkler systems. Strong understanding of state and federal laws, building codes, and fire safety regulations. Skilled in using test equipment, including multi-meters and digital analyzers. Ability to read and interpret installation manuals. Flexible and adaptable in various work situations. Strong prioritization skills to manage multiple tasks efficiently. Commitment to safety when handling tools, equipment, and materials.
