About the job
Persona AI is at the forefront of developing and commercializing advanced humanoid robots designed for real-world applications. With a founding team that boasts decades of experience in humanoid robotics, bionics, and product development, we deliver innovative hardware that has explored the cosmos, descended into the depths of the ocean, and even traversed Disney Parks. Our mission centers on producing beautiful, reliable products at scale while fostering a customer-focused team to drive our success.
As an XR & Rendering Engineer, you will be responsible for crafting immersive operator interfaces for our humanoid fleet. You'll focus on every detail, from frame rates to perceived latency, ensuring a seamless experience that minimizes disorientation and enhances immersion.
Key Responsibilities
• Design and implement an immersive operator interface utilizing a real-time 3D engine, prioritizing usability and safety.
• Develop custom shaders and ray-traced rendering pipelines to provide operators with high-fidelity spatial feedback while maintaining optimal frame rates.
• Create immersive frontend systems for Android and embedded Linux AR devices using Unity, Unreal, or OpenXR.
• Develop XR interfaces that consider human perceptual limits, addressing latency and disorientation effectively.
• Construct a visual feedback language for robot states, alerts, and operator guidance that performs well under pressure.
Qualifications
• Minimum of 4 years of software development experience, with at least 2 years focused on 3D, XR, or real-time interactive applications.
• Extensive knowledge of real-time 3D or game engines.
• Proven experience delivering XR features on Android or embedded Linux using OpenXR.
• Expertise in GPU profiling, shader authoring, and practical ray tracing.
• Strong understanding of human factors and experience design.
• Familiarity with robotic spatial concepts such as 3D geometry and sensor visualization.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Human-Computer Interaction, or a related field.
• Excellent communication skills and a collaborative spirit, especially when working with systems engineers.
