The In-Shop Automotive Technician will work within our client's body shop, facilitating diagnostic pre-scans and post-scans using the AirPro scan tool on vehicles involved in collisions. Additionally, you will perform necessary calibrations and target setups for vehicles requiring such adjustments. Training is provided for qualified individuals.
Reports to: This position reports to the Field Operations Manager and Field Operations Supervisor.
Essential Functions (Duties are performed in an automotive body shop environment)
- Applicants must possess basic computer skills and be comfortable working in a Windows environment.
- Prepare vehicles and initiate all diagnostic scans using the AirPro scan tool.
- Collaborate with body shop personnel to ensure all incoming and outgoing vehicles are scanned and calibrated per OEM requirements.
- Set up targets to calibrate ADAS systems according to manufacturer specifications.
- Responsible for moving and test driving customer vehicles as needed.
- Assist shop personnel with damaged vehicles, such as checking and replacing fuses or inspecting electrical connectors that may affect the scan process (body repairs are not required).
- Continuously update your knowledge of new technical information and techniques through e-learning or other training sessions to stay well-informed about the rapidly evolving automotive technology.
- Adhere to all company and body shop policies and procedures.
